Like every financial service, we're required by law to check who you are. The good news: it takes about 4 minutes, and you only do it once.
Where to start: on the Home screen, tap Verify identity in the "Set up your account" list.
What you'll need:
Your passport or national ID. It has to be valid, not expired.
Good light and a few quiet minutes.
For some countries, proof of address too: a utility bill, a bank statement or a rental contract.
How it goes:
You fill in your personal details, including your address and tax residency.
You take a photo of your document with your phone camera.
You record a short selfie video, so we know it's really you.
The check runs in our verification partner's secure screen. The app will ask for access to your camera, microphone and location. Please allow it, or the check can't finish.
Tips for passing on the first try:
Keep the whole document in the frame, with no glare and no fingers covering it.
Use the same name and date of birth you entered when you signed up.
For proof of address, upload a PDF or a photo taken in the secure screen. Screenshots aren't accepted.
Had to stop halfway? No problem. Tap Continue verification later, and you'll pick up right where you left off.
Once you're done, we review your documents. Most checks are finished within minutes, but some can take up to 72 hours. We'll send you a notification with the result, so there's no need to keep the app open.
